Why hard water is the recurring theme in Orange County
Water here is hard, and hard water does two annoying things. On glass and chrome it evaporates and leaves the mineral behind, which builds into a haze that looks like the surface is dirty when the deposit is actually sitting on top of it. In showers it combines with soap into a film that general-purpose sprays do not dissolve, only redistribute.
The fix is product choice and dwell time, not force. Scrubbing harder on untreated mineral polishes the deposit rather than removing it, and on polished stone or a coated glass panel it can do real damage. How long does a deep clean take?
Considerably longer than a routine visit — commonly two to three times as long for the same house. A compact two-bedroom, one-bathroom home is most of a day for one person. A four-bedroom, three-bathroom house is a full day for a team. The variable that moves it most is not size, it is how long it has been since anything was done properly, and that is what we ask about when quoting.
Do I need a deep clean before starting recurring service?
Only if the house is behind. If you have been cleaning consistently yourself, or another service just stopped, we can start straight into a recurring rhythm. If it has been six months or more, or nobody has ever done the grout and the baseboards, starting recurring without a reset means every visit runs long and the house never actually reaches baseline.
Can you get hard-water spots off glass shower doors?
Usually most of the way, sometimes all the way, and occasionally not entirely. Orange County tap water is hard, and the mineral it leaves builds in layers that eventually etch into the glass surface itself. Deposits that sit on top come off with the right product and enough dwell time. Etching that has gone into the glass is physical damage and no cleaner reverses it — we will tell you which one you have rather than scrubbing indefinitely.
Is deep cleaning the same as move-out cleaning?
They overlap but they are scoped differently. A deep clean happens in a furnished, lived-in home and works around belongings. A move-out clean happens in an empty unit, which means cabinets and closets are cleaned inside as a matter of course and the whole job is aimed at a landlord walkthrough rather than at living in the place afterward.
What does a deep clean not include?
Carpet and upholstery extraction, exterior windows or anything requiring a ladder at height, mold remediation, pest work, and hoarding or biohazard cleanup. Those are separate trades with separate equipment and, in some cases, separate licensing. We would rather refer you than do them badly.
How often should a house get a deep clean?
For a home on regular recurring service, roughly once a year is plenty, and some homes never need another one because the recurring rotation covers the deep tasks over time. For a home with no regular service, twice a year is a reasonable rhythm — spring and before the holidays are when most people ask.
